About Virginia Schedule PY ADJS

Virginia Schedule PY ADJS provides extra space for additions, subtractions, and deductions that do not fit on Schedule 760PY ADJ. Use it with your Form 760PY part-year resident return when you need more adjustment lines. Full-year residents and nonresidents use Schedule ADJS instead.

The 2025 PDF contains one page with separate sections for additions, subtractions, and deductions. Each section provides five coded entries and a total line, with amount columns for you and your spouse. Enter your name and Social Security number, then use the columns that apply to your filing status.

The Form 760PY instructions explain the adjustment codes and how they apply to part-year residents. Include the supplemental amounts in the corresponding totals on Schedule 760PY ADJ and submit both schedules with your return. You may use additional copies of Schedule PY ADJS if necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here are answers to common questions about downloading, printing, completing, and attaching 2025 Virginia Schedule PY ADJS.

When do I need Schedule PY ADJS?

Use Schedule PY ADJS when your coded adjustments exceed the space available on Schedule 760PY ADJ. The Form 760PY instructions direct you to use it for more than two other additions, more than three other subtractions, or more than three deductions. Report only the extra entries on the supplemental schedule.

Where do I transfer the Schedule PY ADJS totals?

For 2025, include Schedule PY ADJS Line 6 in total additions on Line 3 of Schedule 760PY ADJ. Include Line 12 in total subtractions on Line 7, and Line 18 in total deductions on Line 9. Keep the amounts in the corresponding taxpayer and spouse columns.

Which columns should I use for myself and my spouse?

Column A is labeled for you and includes your spouse if you use Filing Status 2. Column B is for your spouse only when using Filing Status 4. Follow the filing-status instructions for Form 760PY so the supplemental amounts match the columns on Schedule 760PY ADJ.

Where can I find the adjustment codes and instructions?

Use the Schedule 760PY ADJ section of the Form 760PY instructions for the same tax year. It lists the addition, subtraction, and deduction codes and explains the requirements for each adjustment. Check the part-year residency guidance before entering an amount.

Should I attach Schedule PY ADJS to my return?

Yes. Submit Schedule PY ADJS with Schedule 760PY ADJ as part of your Form 760PY return. Follow the return instructions for the supplemental-schedule checkbox and any supporting documents required for your adjustments. Keep a copy with your tax records.
